Kate is an effective consultant and coach committed to making a positive impact in the world. Her expertise in strategic planning, communications, and organizational development enables her to provide innovative support and guidance to her clients.

With more than 25 years of experience as a professional advocate, climate and sustainability policy expert, organizational leader, and facilitator, Kate has designed and launched successful programs, organized dozens of events, managed coalitions and teams, and engaged tens of thousands of people to take action.

Kate has a proven track record of turning ambitious ideas into funded realities. She has designed and co-authored more than $60 million in successful federal grants for clean energy and climate resiliency projects serving Michigan nonprofits and local governments, and designed and advised on the implementation of a $2 million state program supporting climate organizations across the region. What sets Kate apart is her ability to move fluidly between big-picture strategy and sleeves-rolled-up execution. She's as comfortable shaping a bold vision as she is digging into the details to make sure projects get done and problems get solved.

Kate holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan, and a master’s degree from the School for International Training in Vermont. Based in Traverse City, she enjoys outdoor adventures with her husband Ross, their two children, and the world's sweetest dog, Leroy.
